“The Livin Large Tour” 2010 featuring – Skyway & Word Up!

Gold Coast punks Skyway will team up with Byron hardcore band Word Up! for the ‘The Livin Large’ tour this November and December.

Starting in 2008 playing hardcore shows in sheds, Skyway quickly established themselves by touring Australia and Japan with the likes of No Fun At All and Frenzal Rhomb. While supporting respected acts such as Strike Anywhere, Fireworks, The Flatliners, Break Even, The Amity Affliction and The Wonder Years The band have continued to move forward in cementing their position as a formidable force in the Pop Punk community. With their third release ‘Nauseating Suburbia’ they show their progression as a band by propelling themselves into the international spectrum with their catchy, melodic punk-anthems.

Byron Bay’s Word Up! have wasted no time in making a name for themselves as a band to watch. Cutting their teeth early on tours with hometown mates Parkway Drive and 50 Lions, the youngsters have also chalked up some extensive touring time with bands such as Trapped Under Ice & Cruel Hand. This tour sees the band gear up to unleash their debut full length ‘Cabin Fever’ which was recorded with Sam Saljooghi and mixed & mastered by Jay Maas (Cruel Hand, Have Heart). The new release, due out December 20th, finds the band firmly on their own feet and ready to leave no stone unturned in 2011.

With their hardworking tour ethics and an essence on having as much fun as possible, both bands have quickly progressed from up and comers and moved toward stamping their own style on each genre. Catch them both on tour this summer.

If you were at the Parkway show at the high school you would have witnessed some wild shit. It’s the first time that the high school hall has sold out in advance and it seems this bands popularity is growing to a ridiculous level. The deep blue tour is now over & the band will head to Europe to headline the Never Say Die tour later this month.

ABC also recorded the entire live set at their show at Festival Hall, Melbourne.

The footage will air as part of Aus Music Month on ABC2 on Monday November 22 @ 11.25pm
