Parkway Drive “Deep Blue” Australian Tour 2010

Australians be warned; the country’s biggest hardcore band is set to embark on a mammoth national tour this September. Byron Bay’s Parkway Drive are scheduled to storm their way through Australia’s biggest live music arenas, conquering several huge venues in the name of the Deep Blue Australian Tour. Their run of 9 shows throughout 7 states will mark the band’s largest tour to date - a fitting reflection of the band’s unprecedented success and continuing strength since their previous album 2007′s Horizons debuted at #6 on the ARIA charts and 2009′s “Parkway Drive: The DVD” achieving platinum sales status.

This national tour arrives hot on the heels of the band’s third album titled “Deep Blue”. Crisp, unprocessed and impossibly heavy, the production on “Deep Blue” brings out every nuance of Parkway Drive’s freshly re-focussed sound. In Hearts Wake are currently in Melbourne recording for a new album with Dan Brown. They will also be recording to contribute one new song to the Byron Bay Hardcore compilation which will be out July 1. There should be some studio updates soon.

Miles Away are back touring the east coast after over half a year. The band will be recording their next album in the USA right before the tour and will also be releasing a 7″ to coincide with the tour. Break Even have just finished a huge six week stint as part of their inaugural trip to Europe. The band played dates with Deez Nuts, The Ghost Inside & Awaken Demons and return home for a quick break before this months co-headlining tour. Check them out at the YAC on June 23. Cruel Hand New Album

Poised to be one of the hardest records of 2010, Lock & Key is Cruel Hand’s third full-length and will be available on July 27th, 2010. Full of just as many catchy, metallic riffs as mosh parts, Lock & Key is a heavy mix of Madball, Leeway, Cro-Mags, Metallica, Suicidal, Obituary, etc., and is one of the most well-rounded hardcore albums in recent memory. Lock & Key was recorded last month in Wakefield, MA with producer Jay Maas (Verse, Bane, Defeater) and illustrates what Cruel Hand is capable of both lyrically and musically.

Vocalist Chris Linkovich said, “Lock & Key is definitely not a ‘Prying Eyes Part 2′. It’s not just a progression either, we feel like this is our defining release. We weren’t scared to bring all of our influences to the table, no matter what the genre of music. We spent a lot more time with guitar sounds, a lot of layering and melody and other second guitar work. As far as lyrics, I reached my goal of working with a lot of different subject matters and also using a little bit of melody with different vocal patterns and delivery. The record is ill and we listen to it every day.”

Since the release of Cruel Hand’s Bridge Nine debut, Prying Eyes, in 2008, the band has been a relentless touring machine and one of the tightest bands in the hardcore world. Cruel Hand has shared the stage with bands like Have Heart, Bane, Terror, Death Before Dishonor, and more, and will continue to tour the globe non-stop in support of Lock & Key.
